| Location: Logan,Ut,United States Member Since: Jul 14, 2013 Gender: Male Goal Type: Other Running Accomplishments: My very first race was the Top of Utah Half Marathon. I finished in 01:29:45. Even though it wasn't amazing, I took 3rd place in my age division which was a huge accomplishment for myself. After that I did a large amount of 5 and 10K's, Ragnar's, etc. In 2012 I put together and Ultra Ragnar Team. After this I started to focus on shorter races and worked towards running track with Utah State University. As I was getting close to running with the team, I met Cody Draper. He introduced me to trail running....I'm now a trail runner! Just did my first ultra marathon two weeks ago...Logan Peak. I finished in 5th place and got under my goal of 5 hours.
Short-Term Running Goals: In the next two years, I'd like to run a 50K and a 50 miler. If those two races go well, I'd like to do the Bear 100 in 2 years from this summer. Long-Term Running Goals: I'm not sure how much of a goal this is...it's more of a wish that's way towards the stars. I'd like to eventually get good enough that I have offers to be sponsored as a runner. But my actual long term goals are:
1. A 100 miler 2. Win an ultra marathon. 3. Be apart of the 80 year old marathon runner club Personal: I'm single! The only exciting thing going on in my life is I'm getting into trail running! |

| Did a slow and easy run today. Went from my house over to Sky View and looped back to the house. Saw something very weird and disgusting....for about a mile stretch during my run, there were....no joke, around 50 squished mice on the road. My guess is they needed warmth so they all went to sleep on the road then....death. It was a pretty disgusting sight honestly.

| Watched a video that Sage Canaday put together talking about the importance of taking easy days easy. So, I forced myself to run slower. Went from my place towards campus, looped out towards 10th west. Headed to YESCO....in the process of this I saw good ol' Dennis Jensen outside. So I stopped and we chatted a good 15 minutes. Funny guy with a nasty beard now. Easy run

| Worked 40 hours already this week so I was able to take today off. I met up with Cody at his house and we went for a long run. He had to be somewhere at 10:30 so we needed to be done by 9:30. We left from his house and headed up some random roads towards the canal trail by the temple. We took that to first dam then took BST over to Green. We headed up green for about 3 miles then turn around and took the same route back basically. At first dam we headed behind the water lab and took some random roads back. We were hauling after the water lab. Kept 6:40 pace for 3 miles. I was pretty darn tired. Very good training run.

| Did a slow and easy long run today. Went from my house up to the BST and headed over to first dam. Then I did the First to Prov run via Deer Fence that Cody, Fan and myself do so much. Along deer fence I saw a dead deer...completely devoured by what appeared to be a mtn. lion (mtn. lion tracks). Use the new Pearl Izumi M2 on the run. They were amazing like always!

| Did the Green Canyon half marathon run tonight with Cody, Zach and Fan. It was very icy and uneven up green....rolled my ankle a lot and kind of hurt the back of my leg right behind my knee. We went at a great pace though. Fun run!

| Wasn't going to run today...but Cody told me Prov Canyon was amazing so I gave in. Stated at the church he usually starts at and headed up to the Cattle Guard. I was extremely sore, tired, and felt some pain in my groin. Took it very slow. My watch was acting funny and died so I didn't get everything. It was 8 miles, about 1 hour and 17 minutes and around 1700 ft of climbing.

| Cody and I heard that Jardine Juniper was runable. So, we threw on our spikes and hit the trail. The lower 1.5 miles was ICY. Like, really icy. The middle was awesome. The top was snowy. The snowshoes stopped about 3.5 miles up. So, we headed down a new section (followed the snow shoes) and it looped us to the river crossing on the normal trail. So, we headed back up one more time then headed down. My spikes were falling apart everywhere....1 run and they are finished. Ugh

| Today's weather was AMAZING. Like, so amazing. I had to take advantage of it....ran in shorts and a t-shirt. Went from my place and headed to the N. Logan cemetary. Then took the BST over to Cedar Hill in Hyde Park....I headed straight up it and explored around the area. Then headed down the north trail of Cedar and cut off into some random field (the trail here...and most of the trail was MUDDY and snowy...mostly muddy). I then wrapped around to the entry of Dry Canyon and headed down to the roads of Smithfield (I refused to head back in that mud). I then took the roads back home. Fun and muddy day

| Went to Antelope Island today with Cody and Fan. It felt like spring....so nice. We were planning on doing 30....Fan kept it shorter and did 20 because he doesn't want to over do it for his race. Cody and I got to mile 17 and Cody's IT band started to hurt.....so he hitched a ride back. I wanted to finish so I kept going. Around mile 21 Cody and Fan showed up in my car and kind of "crewed" me. I was planning on finishing....but, it was dark...and right after Cody and Fan said hi, I heard coyotes howling. Between that and knowing buffalo were around me (but mostly the coyotes) I decided to call it a night. 24.4 was a good day. Poor Cody. Hope he gets better.
