| Location: Logan,Ut,United States Member Since: Jul 14, 2013 Gender: Male Goal Type: Other Running Accomplishments: My very first race was the Top of Utah Half Marathon. I finished in 01:29:45. Even though it wasn't amazing, I took 3rd place in my age division which was a huge accomplishment for myself. After that I did a large amount of 5 and 10K's, Ragnar's, etc. In 2012 I put together and Ultra Ragnar Team. After this I started to focus on shorter races and worked towards running track with Utah State University. As I was getting close to running with the team, I met Cody Draper. He introduced me to trail running....I'm now a trail runner! Just did my first ultra marathon two weeks ago...Logan Peak. I finished in 5th place and got under my goal of 5 hours.
Short-Term Running Goals: In the next two years, I'd like to run a 50K and a 50 miler. If those two races go well, I'd like to do the Bear 100 in 2 years from this summer. Long-Term Running Goals: I'm not sure how much of a goal this is...it's more of a wish that's way towards the stars. I'd like to eventually get good enough that I have offers to be sponsored as a runner. But my actual long term goals are:
1. A 100 miler 2. Win an ultra marathon. 3. Be apart of the 80 year old marathon runner club Personal: I'm single! The only exciting thing going on in my life is I'm getting into trail running! |

| Did the same road loop I did Friday. House to campus, to below the temple, to island and loop up to first dam and home. Went quick today...I was expecting to go slower but surprisingly my legs felt pretty good.

| Did a slower recovery run today. Went from my house up the mouth of green and took BST over to first dam. Then took the upper canal trail for a mile and headed back. Easy run with an avg. HB of 132

| Did a hill workout today. Went from my house to the mouth of green then headed up the face of green. I wanted to go up 1.5 miles but there was snow up at the top. So, I went up 1 mile, headed down, then turned around and did another .5 miles. Going down was painful. My legs are dead. Time to go to my basketball game now....

| Today, my quads and legs were DEAD. Walking around campus this morning, I could tell that my legs were destroyed and that I'd struggle on my run today. From mile 1 to mile 24, my legs felt like crap. But, I pushed through it and got 24. I did BST from Green Canyon all the way to Blacksmith Fork. Also did a mile of Prov canyon. Very long and difficult. But, great 100 mile training.

| No classes or work today. Took advantage of the day off and the sun and went for a long run. Started out feeling fresh. Started at green and took BST over to first then headed up logan canyon. I took the canal and river trail up towards crimson trail and did crimson. Then I crossed the highway and did the wind caves/beirdneau trail. About .5 miles from the top of the beirdneau trail it got muddy and snowy so I turned around and added the entire wind caves trail to my run. Then I headed back across the highway, up crimson again and back. I also added 1.5 miles of spring hollow. I was only planning on 24ish miles....so, I didn't have any food. I was pretty darn bonked. Great and pretty February run

| Did one more long run before the Red Mountain 50K in 2 weeks. Went from green over to Blacksmithfork via BST and Deer Fence. On the way over it was warm and I was sweaty! But, right when I turned around, it started snowing a good amount. I got pretty wet and couldn't see that well. But it was a good run to get in before the race. This was a big week! Time to take it semi easy next week.

| Did a great run with Nuckles today. Went from green and took the North BST trail. Went up Cedar Hill and looped around backwards (backwards of what Cody and I usually do). I was pushing it up Cedar. Felt pretty good today. Awesome run

| Did the same run today with Nuckles that I did yesterday. This time we did the loop backwards. We also went and explored around in a cave/cole mine. Good, slower run. Nuckles hurt his calf so that slowed us down a bit. Great run though

| A boy at work has been struggling. He wanted me to take him for a run to relive some stress and to talk. So I took him to Mantua and we did a loop around the lake twice. He was able to cool down and we had a great chat. Nice, easy run

| My cousin Tom has been getting into running and wanted to go on a long run with me. The most he has ever done is 13 and he wanted to do 14. So with my race next weekend I decided I could do 14 at a slower pace than usual. He actually did really well. He's 38, lost 30ish pounds, and is a natural runner. Did BST and River trail. Good fun run
