| Location: Logan,Ut,United States Member Since: Jul 14, 2013 Gender: Male Goal Type: Other Running Accomplishments: My very first race was the Top of Utah Half Marathon. I finished in 01:29:45. Even though it wasn't amazing, I took 3rd place in my age division which was a huge accomplishment for myself. After that I did a large amount of 5 and 10K's, Ragnar's, etc. In 2012 I put together and Ultra Ragnar Team. After this I started to focus on shorter races and worked towards running track with Utah State University. As I was getting close to running with the team, I met Cody Draper. He introduced me to trail running....I'm now a trail runner! Just did my first ultra marathon two weeks ago...Logan Peak. I finished in 5th place and got under my goal of 5 hours.
Short-Term Running Goals: In the next two years, I'd like to run a 50K and a 50 miler. If those two races go well, I'd like to do the Bear 100 in 2 years from this summer. Long-Term Running Goals: I'm not sure how much of a goal this is...it's more of a wish that's way towards the stars. I'd like to eventually get good enough that I have offers to be sponsored as a runner. But my actual long term goals are:
1. A 100 miler 2. Win an ultra marathon. 3. Be apart of the 80 year old marathon runner club Personal: I'm single! The only exciting thing going on in my life is I'm getting into trail running! |

| I have an awesome girlfriend. She's training for a half marathon and wanted to do Green Canyon with me today. We didn't go super fast, but she was a trooper. She had sports induced asthma in high school and a ways up she was struggling breathing. She wasn't having a lot of fun. I'd keep stopping and would tell her that we should go back....but, she wanted to finish. Super proud of her.

| Did a 4th of July (well, 3rd of July) run with Cody and his friend Logan today. Went and did Ben Lommond and Willard Peak. This past week, I've averaged 4 hours of sleep a night.....I woke up with a major headache. So, got a Red Bull to keep me going. After the run, got some chocolate milk and mtn dew....I'm so healthy. I surprisingly did well. We pushed ourselves fairly well up....and back. I fell behind on the way down. But made some ground and pretty much caught up by the finish. Great views. Had a lot of fun.

| Decided today at work that I wanted to do 100 miles of training this week. Did the green canyon/preston valley/logan river trail loop. Went up Preston Valley at a solid pace...ran the whole way...Erik's CR is amazing. Gonna be hard to beat. The trail down into the wind caves is very overgrown...very hard to pick up speed. Tom met me at the bottom of the wind caves and ran to green with me. Great start this week.

| Did another big elevation day. Went up Dry canyon, then headed north at the junction. Went down the north sincline....and had a terrible experience just past that. I tripped and landed in some stinging nettle....and I was shirtless. For a solid 15 minutes my body HURT. Then I was super itchy for the rest of the run. Went out to inspiration point....very pretty spot. Then went down spring hollow, took the river trail to first dam, then cut up to Dry. Very pretty and difficult run

| Did Monday's loop but backwards. I was up ALL night itching my freaking body. Got about 2 hours of sleep. Took some benadril at work just before I went running. I was very zoned out. It was super difficult to get moving. On the way up the trail above the wind caves, I saw my first rattle snake of the year. Had about 6 rattles. Thing didn't even hiss or rattle at me. Needless to say, for the rest of the way up...in the very overgrown grass....I was super nervous. Today was much slower than Monday. Still looking strong for 100 miles!

| Surprisingly, my legs were able to move quick today. Did the green canyon half marathon. Went very fast. This is my 4th time doing this run, and the first time I did the whole thing under an average 8 minute mile. Nice, difficult pace!

| Did my favorite cache valley run....the "Northern Utah High Country Traverse" (high creek to green canyon). Erik joined me. The wild flowers up High creek lake were SO pretty. The view on top of Cherry Creek was amazing. The slight breeze around Naomi and Tony Grove was incredible. The cold water spring was awesome. The views from the 7 sisters and Mt. Elmer were amazing. The run down into Green....was difficult. Amazing run. Glad Erik could join. My freaking watch didn't separate my moving time from my elapsed time. Annoying
