Running Accomplishments:

My very first race was the Top of Utah Half Marathon.  I finished in 01:29:45.  Even though it wasn't amazing, I took 3rd place in my age division which was a huge accomplishment for myself.  After that I did a large amount of 5 and 10K's, Ragnar's, etc.  In 2012 I put together and Ultra Ragnar Team.  After this I started to focus on shorter races and worked towards running track with Utah State University.  As I was getting close to running with the team, I met Cody Draper.  He introduced me to trail running....I'm now a trail runner!  Just did my first ultra marathon two weeks ago...Logan Peak.  I finished in 5th place and got under my goal of 5 hours.

Short-Term Running Goals:

In the next two years, I'd like to run a 50K and a 50 miler.  If those two races go well, I'd like to do the Bear 100 in 2 years from this summer.

Long-Term Running Goals:

I'm not sure how much of a goal this is...it's more of a wish that's way towards the stars.  I'd like to eventually get good enough that I have offers to be sponsored as a runner. But my actual long term goals are:

1. A 100 miler   2.  Win an ultra marathon.  3.  Be apart of the 80 year old marathon runner club

Personal:

I'm single!  The only exciting thing going on in my life is I'm getting into trail running!

Today was my first 50 K!  It was super fun and pretty.  I went with Cody and Joe.  Those two are animals.  We started out at the mouth of Cherry Creek Canyon.  The first six miles I definitely wasn't feeling the greatest.  For some reason early morning runs really get to me.  Once we got to Mount Naiomi, I was feeling much better.  We then began our descent down towards Tony Grove Lake.  Once we got there, we headed back up the south west side of the lake.  During this section, it started to rain on us.  Cody was leading us and decided to wait it out under some trees.  After about three minutes of waiting, the rain stopped, and we started up again.  After about a mile, we reached the seven sisters and began our journey across them.  Joe was feeling kind of sore so he continued as Cody and I went to the top of Mt Elmer.  We caught up to Joe at the top of Green canyon, and headed down the trail. At this point, there was a blister on my big toe that popped and started to bleed.  The made it kind of hard to run.  My toe was actually in a lot of pain. But all three of us eventually made it.  Cody and Joe are super fun to run with.  Definitely glad that I went on this run.

For the past 3 weeks, I've been injured and haven't done much running.  I've mostly been doing some mountain biking to stay active.  But today I decided to try a run out.  I did green canyon (from king nature park to the fence and back).  The temperature actually wasn't too hot....especially for a 4 p.m run.  I'm happy to report my foot no longer hurts! Time to get back into running shape.  For taking about three weeks off, I felt pretty good.  Not a lot happened

I did green canyon again today.  It was super hot.  Again, not a lot happened.  Saw a couple snakes.  Foot is still feeling great!

Again, did green canyon.  Usually on Wednesday nights I go for a longer run with Cody and Joe.  But Cody is gone on a scouting trip so I just stuck with green.  About 30 minutes after my run, my friends and I mountain biked green canyon.  Ha I felt that one.  Excited to be running again!!
