| Location: Logan,Ut,United States Member Since: Jul 14, 2013 Gender: Male Goal Type: Other Running Accomplishments: My very first race was the Top of Utah Half Marathon. I finished in 01:29:45. Even though it wasn't amazing, I took 3rd place in my age division which was a huge accomplishment for myself. After that I did a large amount of 5 and 10K's, Ragnar's, etc. In 2012 I put together and Ultra Ragnar Team. After this I started to focus on shorter races and worked towards running track with Utah State University. As I was getting close to running with the team, I met Cody Draper. He introduced me to trail running....I'm now a trail runner! Just did my first ultra marathon two weeks ago...Logan Peak. I finished in 5th place and got under my goal of 5 hours.
Short-Term Running Goals: In the next two years, I'd like to run a 50K and a 50 miler. If those two races go well, I'd like to do the Bear 100 in 2 years from this summer. Long-Term Running Goals: I'm not sure how much of a goal this is...it's more of a wish that's way towards the stars. I'd like to eventually get good enough that I have offers to be sponsored as a runner. But my actual long term goals are:
1. A 100 miler 2. Win an ultra marathon. 3. Be apart of the 80 year old marathon runner club Personal: I'm single! The only exciting thing going on in my life is I'm getting into trail running! |

| I actually felt really good today. I'd say I was at 90%. My sickness is finally....finally leaving. Did my apt to BST to Upper canal run. Didn't go at record pace but I did go at a pace that I haven't done for a few weeks. It feels good to have some energy. The weather was amazing. Shorts and tshirt run.

| I'm finally getting better! Was able to go at a fairly quick pace today. Did my normal road run to Dave's grave and Hyde park. A little rainy but overall, great weather

| Started at the temple and did the canal trail. Went up to the BST and headed over to green. Decided to go about half a mile up the face. I forgot how brutal of a climb that is. Didn't go to fast. A nice recovery pace. Gonna be more sore tomorow.

| Did a very slow run this morning. Went from my apt to the mouth of green then headed north on the BST trail. Did ten miles.

| Got a long run in today. I started at the temple and did the lower canal trail. Then I went to the upper canal trail. Then I went to the River trail and took that to the wind cave trail and ran to the top. Then, I headed back. It was a beautiful day. Sun was out. Weather was excellent. Nano and Austin were hiking the winnd caves trail. It was cool seeing them. Felt god to finally get in a long run

| Man, my legs were so sore today. Did a road run. The normal Dave's grave run. Went pretty slow. I've been having a hard time sleeping lately. Between that and being sore from last week, I just didn't have much energy.

| Did a good trail run today at a fairly good pace. Went from the mouth of green and took the BST over to the Canal trail. Then headed up the river trail a ways. Saw a lot of friends who stopped me to talk to me today. Everyone is gettinig out to enjoy the weather!

| Did a long run today with Cody! Got up at 5:30 AM and traveled to Antelope Island. There were a lot of people out on the trail: bikers and runners...even horse riders. We did the 50K course...2 loops around the island. The whole run was very windy. Had to wear a jacket for the first loop. But as the sun came up for the second loop, we were able to shed the jackets. As we were running, we were able to pass a few herds of Buffalo. Sometimes we got about 5 ft away. That sure made things interesting and suspensful. Cody got chased by one on mile 31. That was funny to hear about (Cody finished a little bit before me). It was a great run! Glad I went

| Went on a run today. A way WINDY run. I did the apt to BST to Upper canal trail. As I was on the upper canal trail, the wind almost blew me off the edge at one point. It was so windy. I felt good however til about mile 5. The rest of the way back, my knee KILLED. I think I'm going to take tomorrow off just to be safe. Need to be ready for the Zion 100K!

| Took today off from running. Tried biking. But after ten minutes my knee started hurting. So I walked for a mile. Then I did an ab work out and push ups at cross fit. Pretty easy day

| Haven't ran since Monday! However, I met with an athletic trainer at USU. She told me I have "patellar tracking problem." Apparently my knee doesn't rotate the way it should. I need to get a patellar brace and leukotape. The tape and brace is supposed to help my knee rotate correctly. Went 4 miles today. Could tell that the brace helps. My knee felt much more sturdy than it has the past couple of weeks. Hopefully this solution will help me finish Zion next week!
